Hope through opportunity… Opportunity through education. Nica HOPE is a new nonprofit that seeks to provide education and vocational training to marginalized communities in Nicaragua. Education and vocational training will grant the necessary skills to access opportunities for employment and income-generation for these communities, while increased coordination and networking will allow better access to existing opportunities. Instruction in critical thinking, creativity, and hands-on problem solving with an integral focus on values and character-building will develop students into effective, well-rounded workers and individuals. Nica HOPE will leverage available resources in financial, human, and social capital in order to provide opportunities for these communities to improve their own lives through socioeconomic advancement.

Nica HOPE is currently focusing it's efforts to provide increased job and education opportunities to the community of the Managua City trash dump, known as La Chureca.

Chureca Fundraising Campaign

Nica HOPE is launching a new fundraising campaign to fund 2 new projects to bring increased education and job training opportunities vocational to the children and young adults of La Chureca:

1) The Chureca Schools Support Program: Initiative to provide support services and resources to the local schools in and near La Chureca to build up their ability to provide quality education to the communities they serve.

2) The Chureca Vocational Outreach Program: Expansion of vocational training services to La Chureca and the surrounding community, include a new computer training center and scholarships to other local job-training programs.

Job training and opportunities is exactly what the people of La Chureca have been needing and asking for. Our estimates so far show that $12 a month will put a student through our computer training program, to get certified with skills to get a real job here in Managua once they graduate. It doesn’t take much to make a difference here and help provide the opportunities to open doors in these lives. I hope you’ll consider making a financial contribution!
